I don’t know if I’ll still be using Instagram in 2013, but I sure used the heck out of it in 2012! Here’s a look back at the year that was via the 10 most liked photos on .
I don’t blog as much about daily life in Amsterdam as I should. I think that means I’ve finally started to settle in and take the ordinary things as, well, ordinary (as opposed to when I first moved here and everything was new). But I do post glimpses of everyday life in the ‘Dam on Instagram.
This year, 4 out of my 10 most liked photos were of Amsterdam–one for each of the four seasons, actually!
Instagram was also where I chronicled my wanderlust. These on-the-fly snapshots of some of the places I’ve been this year got quite a few likes.
A quintessentially Dutch scene in Haarlem, where I go every week for watercolor classes…
… and stunning Skogafoss in Iceland: no filters needed!
And who could forget this winter wonderland scene in Monschau, Germany?
I will always remember 2012 as my pregnancy year. Initially I was paranoid about sharing (and over-sharing!) on the blog and via social media in general. But I just couldn’t keep the joy and excitement to myself. (If I over-share, you guys will tell me, right?) It seems the world loves happy news, as my pregnancy photos were among the ones that got the most likes on Instagram.
My first “belly” photo at 14 weeks. I was so excited to start showing. I can’t believe I already thought I had a baby bump here!
A proper pregnancy belly at 24 weeks (somewhere between months 5 and 6), accessorized with red foam X’s from my volunteer gig at TEDxAmsterdam. The three X’s (or Saint Andrew’s crosses) are the symbol of the city of Amsterdam. And no, it’s not because this city is X-rated!
Do you Instagram? Follow me ! And cheers to an amazing year that was… and cheers to even more awesomeness in the year to come!
